New Film Work: Summer 2025 in Bloom
Maui 2025
There’s a very specific kind of magic that happens when summer lingers in the air and I have a camera in my hand — especially a film camera. My latest collection from Summer 2025 is finally here, and I’m so excited to share the story behind these images.
This series came together over several months during the summer of 2025, across three very different landscapes, all of them close to my heart.
Maui: Palm Trees, Surf Culture & Soft Tropical Light
Maui has always felt like a visual love letter waiting to be written. I went intentionally this time — hunting for palm tree shapes and silhouettes to expand my Palm Series, and chasing anything surf-related that felt nostalgic and sun-soaked.
Maui Palms and Surf
Some of the most meaningful images came from wandering quiet gardens, beach paths, and little pockets of tropical beauty. The film soup process added its own kind of alchemy — some images ended up with pastel washes, soft textures, and colors that feel like dream-memory instead of reality. They are giving a vintage, ocean-kissed, and a little wild look. All of these images were shot on Fuji 200 35mm film.

Mill Valley: Nature Walks & Local Magic
Another roll came to life right here at home in Mill Valley. I took my camera on a long nature walk, following the light between redwoods, ferns, and open trails. These images feel bright and earthy — a counterbalance to the breezy Maui photos — but with a similar soft, pastel glow that film delivers when it feels like cooperating.

Napa: Mustard Season in Full Bloom
And then there was Napa. I happened to visit while the mustard fields were at peak bloom — that electric, golden-yellow - or neon green - moment that feels unreal, because it is…it’s mustard in the soup. Ha! A few frames from that day made it into this collection, and they bring such a vibrant contrast to the tropical blues and soft greens of the other images.

The Color Story: Pastel, Dreamlike, and Abstract
This batch of film processed so nicely — better than I hoped. The tones came out in soft pinks, dark pinks, mint green and a touch of neon in different shades. Giving a dreamy vibe, that makes every photo feel like a painting. There’s something incredibly special about seeing these colors emerge from film… almost like being handed a gift you didn’t know you asked for.
Perfect for Lovers of Nature, Surf Culture & Vintage Vibes
If you’re drawn to:
breezy coastal imagery
palm trees and tropical light
surf culture and ocean-lovers’ nostalgia
soft, pastel tones
nature scenes with a vintage feel
artwork that feels calming, dreamy, and original
…then this collection might speak straight to your heart.
Each piece would make a beautiful print for a home filled with beach energy, warm earth tones, or that effortlessly lived-in, California-coastal style.
Mill Valley Around Town
I hope you enjoy this new work as much as I enjoyed creating it. These images are little pockets of how I saw the world last summer — quiet, colorful, peaceful, and full of possibility.
If one of them calls to you, you know where to find me. 💛
This collection brings together my love of pastel art, abstract film photography, and the surf-inspired, coastal energy of California. From Maui’s palm trees to Mill Valley’s nature trails and Napa’s mustard fields, these prints blend beach art, tropical photography, and soft, vintage hues into pieces that feel dreamy, modern, and effortlessly California. If you’re drawn to surf art, coastal décor, or unique fine art prints with a pastel twist, you’ll find plenty to explore here.
